LQS has a fully equipped laboratory on site. During production periods samples are analysed daily to determine the iron level and the particle size. The moisture content is measured before and during loading to assure that the product is adequately drained before dispatch.

 

Iron level

LQS uses a X-Ray Fluorescence machine to determine the iron level in our sand. We follow strict calibration procedures to make sure that all analysis are correct.

Particle size

We use British Standard sieves to determine the particle size. Our weighing scales are calibrated daily.

Moisture content

The moisture of our sand is measured with a "Speedy" Protimeter. We calibrate this unit on a regular basis.
